Dr. Kevin McLaughlin

In March 2000, Dr. Kevin McLaughlin moved with his family to Carrollton and joined West Georgia Urology Associates.  He has been in the full-time practice of Urology since then.  His practice involves the management of the entire spectrum of genito-urinary health care, including both male and female, adult and pediatric patients.  His particular interests involve men’s health, the surgical treatment and medical prevention of kidney stone disease, and minimally invasive office and surgical procedures.
Born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, Dr. McLaughlin graduated from Dartmouth College in 1981.  He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago.  His surgical internship, Urologic surgery residency and Chief Residency were performed at the Emory University Affiliated Hospitals (Emory University, Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center, Grady Memorial, Crawford Long, Scottish Rite and Egleston Memorial Hospitals).  He completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the James C. Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
After completing his training Dr. McLaughlin joined the faculty of the Loma Linda University College of Medicine in Loma Linda, California as an Assistant Professor in Urology.  The next step in his career brought him to the Augusta, Georgia area where he was a part-time member of the faculty at the Medical College of Georgia before moving to Carrollton.  He is an active member of the Tanner Medical Staff with admitting and surgical privileges at all three of the Tanner Health Systems hospitals (Carrollton, Villa Rica and Higgins Hospital in Bremen).  He has served as the Chairman of the Surgical Clinical Department Review Committee, Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Vice Chief of the medical staff.  Although not a native, Dr. McLaughlin and his family feel they have “moved home” in Carrollton.  They appreciate the friendliness and warmth of their community and look forward to many happy years here.
