Dr. John Pearson

After moving here on March 15th, 2013, Dr. Pearson quickly became a valued member the West Georgia Urology Associates. Dr. Pearson is specifically interested in urological surgery, spending the last four years of his residency focusing in Urology. Dr. Pearson has established himself as a seasoned researcher in Urology, spending two years in a research position and publishing over 10 articles in his specific field of study.
 
Dr. Pearson was born on the 18th of April 1949. He began his academic career with a Bachelor’s in Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois, where he graduated with honors in 1970. Dr. Pearson then attended medical school at Northwestern Medical School, graduating in 1974. He began his surgical internship soon after, becoming a Junior Resident of General Surgery in 1975 and a Senior Resident of Urology in 1977. In 1979, Dr. Pearson became the Chief Resident of Urology at the University of California, San Francisco Hospitals. He then made the decision to join the United States Navy, where he served as a Lieutenant Commander at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
 
After leaving the military in 1982, Dr. Pearson became a member of the American Board of Urology. Before he moved to Georgia, he worked at the Palm Bay Community Hospital in Palm Bay, Florida and the Wuesthoff Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Florida. Dr. Pearson also has experience as a lecturer at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida and the Sunnyside Community Hospital. Dr. Pearson has held many positions, including a Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Chief of Staff, member of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board of Directors, member of the Board of Trustees, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
